이 노래가 이런 뜻이었다니 3편...비틀즈의 렛잇비(Let It Be)

세상에서 가장 알려진곡 3곡을 뽑으라면 무조건 비틀즈의 곡이 들어갈것 같습니다. 

예스터데이 아니면 렛잇비인데, 저는 예스터데이를 뽑겠습니다. 

하지만, 오늘은 렛 잇 비(Let It Be)입니다.

 

렛잇비는 비틀즈의 마지막 정규앨범입니다.

이전의  애비로드(Abbey Road)가 해체를 예감한 멤버들이 마지막으로 뭉친만큼 엄청난 시너지와 제작되어 명반으로 불릴 이유가 충분한 반면,  이 엘범은 멤버들간의 불화가 심화되어 서로가 서로를 믿지 못하는 상황에 만들어 졌습니다.

 

그러다보니 다소 실망스러운 결과로 남았지만,, 비틀즈는 비틀즈입니다.

비틀즈 음반치고 아쉽다는 것이지 발매와 동시에 미국과 영국에서 앨범차트 1위입니다.

이 앨범의 히트곡은

Let It Be

The Long and Winding Road 입니다.

이 노래는 폴 메카트니가 꿈속에서 들은 곡을 썼다고 전해지는 곡이기도 합니다.

곡을 쓰려고 아무리 노력을 해도 떠오르지 않았는데 꿈속에서 곡이 떠올랐다고 합니다.

어딘가에서 들었던 노래가 아닐까?라고 생각해 주위사람들에게 확인을 했지만, 아무도 이 곡을 모른다고하는데요.

이 에피소드는 영화'예스터데이'에서도 활용했다고 합니다.

꿈속에서 어머니였던 '메리'가 나타나 순리에 맡겨라(Let It Be)라는 말을 했고 그것을 가사로포함시켰다고 합니다.

가사중 mother Mary라는 가사는 성모마리아를 뜻하는 것이 아니라 본인의 어머니를 가리키는 것임을 폴 메카트니 본인이 인터뷰에서 밝혔다고 합니다.

 

삶의 위로를 전하는 잔잔한 가사가 듣는 사람에게도 다독임을 주는 노래이며 한국인이 가장 좋아하는 팝송이라 봐도 될만큼 한국인정서에 맞는 노래라고 할수 있습니다.
